
Opening Doors, a research, rehabilitation and training center funded by NIDRR, is studying new educational transition, recreational, and early health screening strategies to improve the lives of children and youth with disabilities and special health care needs from traditionally underserved communities.
Priority will be given to abstracts which emphasize any of the following:
The body of the abstract (not including title, authors, organization, etc.) must not exceed 500 words. Read the instructions below and complete the form on the next page, including all contact information, author(s), title, and abstract text (not to exceed 500 words). Do not submit graphs, tables or any visual aids.
Abstracts must be received by 6:00p.m. on 6/30/2008. All submissions will be acknowledged by email soon after they are received.
Abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of researchers, parents and community members and will be judged on:
Notification of acceptance will be by email. Notifications will be sent on or before 8/15/08. Once the program is finalized, we will notify you of the time and location for your panel presentation.
Presenters are required to register for the conference. More information on registration, housing, and travel will be posted on this site as they become available. Three competitive scholarships will be awarded based on merit of the submitted abstract to cover hotel and travel expenses.
